Suggestions for guys who are new to Satanism....

Suggestions for guys who are new to Satanism....

My first piece of advice to “newbies” is this: take your time.

Many men confuse “getting closer to Satan” with only sex or instant gratification. Sex and BDSM can certainly be powerful expressions of Satanic energy, but Satanism (Theistic or Atheistic) runs far deeper than that.

1. Study and Reflect

Start simple. Read across traditions—Theistic Satanism, Demonolatry, Chaos Magick, even general philosophy. Begin a personal grimoire (journal) where you write down what resonates, questions you have, and your own reflections.

2. Ritual Practice

You don’t need elaborate ceremonies at first. Light a candle, meditate on Satan, and speak openly. The point is honesty and consistency, not theatrics.

3. Self-Empowerment

Being a Satanist is about strength, self-knowledge, and liberation from shame. Ask yourself not only “What do I want?” but also “Who am I becoming?” That question is key to the path.

4. Community

GSB is a good starting place, but it mixes hookups with reflection. Learn to separate those currents. Join conversations where philosophy and practice are the focus, and consider finding serious Satanists beyond GSB for deeper exchanges.

Above all:

Remember you are already whole. Satan doesn’t make you complete; you already are. The path is about discovering and embodying your own power and walking it with pride.

Finding Satanism, in its many forms, is liberating. Kind of like (for me, anyway) when I finally realized I was gay. I felt so liberated from the fake rules of society, that I went all out and jumped head first into gay culture and party lifestyle. It was fun, but I eventually got wiser and settled into a life where I am at peace and have balance. Finding Satanism is like that; at first you want to go all in for the lust and depravity (which is no doubt fun, mind you), but when you come down from the "high" of discovery, and you learn more about what it all means to you, you will find balance in all of it; sexual, health, worshipping your own body, philosophical, and social. Satanism is not dark to me, it is light! Light reveals the truth!
