I just read a news article about Pete Hegseth (US Secretary of Defense) attending and supporting an ultra-evangelical christian church. I just don't understand how people get sucked into that vacuum of blatant lies, homophobia, xenophobia, and elitism. I'd like to think that none of them actually believe, and they are just there to jerk off each others egos and be seen in a place that has a false veneer of righteousness. But, sadly, they have been feeding on each others fears to the point where they have convinced themselves that their shitty world view is the only view, and all other should be condemned.
