Speculation: The Satanic Self
DISCLAIMER:
This is my own thought. Feel free to accept or reject any or all of it.
In many forms of Satanism – but not all - particularly Theistic and esoteric branches, the Path is absolutely about removing the false self to reveal and embody the true, sovereign self.
The False Self in Satanism:
The false self is often identified with social programming, religious conditioning, guilt, shame, repression, and all the masks we wear to be “acceptable.”
It's the version of you created to please others, avoid rejection, or survive in a world that demands conformity.
In much Satanic thought, this is a prison—a façade that dulls the Black Flame within.
The True Self:
The true self is not necessarily what you like about yourself—it’s what is real, even if it's raw, chaotic, erotic, or powerful.
It is the unapologetic core of your being, your Will, your instincts, your shadow, your inner god.
In Theistic Satanism, the True Self is invoked, tested, refined, and revealed through your relationship with Satan—not as a metaphor, but as a conscious, opposing force that strips away illusion.
How This Process Happens:
Ritual – confronting fear, guilt, shame, and taboos through symbolic or real action.
Shadow Work – claiming the exiled parts of yourself, especially what religion or family called "sinful."
Initiatory Experience – moments where the mask is torn away and a deeper self is seen.
Self-Deification – not becoming a god to dominate others but becoming undivided within.
Satan as Liberator:
Satan is not a therapist. He’s not here to soothe you. He’s the force that says:
“Tear it all down. What’s left? That’s you.”
That’s why many serious Satanists speak of ego death, identity death, and then reclamation—not to lose the self, but to forge the true one.
Satanism can be about becoming your true self—But not the self others told you to be. The one that was buried alive and is now clawing back to the surface.

This the Sartanism I seek.
